The Passive Voice

Passive voice itu adalah pengubahan kaliamat aktif mnjadie kalimat pasif..

Tapi, gag semua kalimat bisa diubah menjadi kalimat pasif.
Beberapa keadaan dimana passive voice ga bisa dipake :

Ketika gag ada Object
Contoh nya : Sue is running.
Ann is eating with her father.

Kalimat2 kaya gini cmen punya Subject, ama Verb sehingga ga bisa di pasifin

Ketika gag ada Verb
Contoh nya : Sue is happy
Ann is seriously fat.

Kalimat2 kaya gini jga ga bisa di pasifin.



Passive Voice itu digunakan dalam beberapa bentuk tenses.

Present Tense : rumus dasar nya S+is/am/are+V3+O
Contoh : Sue usually drinks milk during her spare time.
Jawab : Milk is usually drunk by Sue during her spare time.

Time signal Present Tense:

• Usually
• Always
• every (everyday, every morning, every afternoon)
• Never
• Sometimes
• Rarely
• Often

Perhatikan bahwa dalam Pengubahan kalimat aktif ke pasif, Object di kalimat aktif menjadi Subject di kalimat aktif.


Past Tense : rumus dasar nya S+was/were+V3+O
Contoh : The thieves killed the owner of the house just now.
Jawab : The owner of the house was killed by the thieves just now.

Time signal Past Tense :

• Last (last year, last month, last hour)
• just now
• ago (1 year ago, 2 seconds ago)
• long time ago
• when (gag selalu)
  

Present Continuous Tense : rumus dasar nya S+is/am/are+being+V3+O
Contoh : John is eating a moon cake at the moment.
Jawab : A moon cake is being eaten by John at the moment.

Time signal Present Continuous Tense :

• at the moment
• now
• dalam percakapan (gag semua)
• Jika ada kata seru (Look! Listen! Be quiet!) (gag selalu)
  

Past Continuous Tense : rumus dasar nya S+was/were+being+V3+O
Contoh : The kids were watching Titanic in RCTI yesterday at 5.00 P.M. .
Jawab : Titanic was being watched by the kids in RCTI yesterday at 5.00 P.M. .

Contoh : Sarah and Anthony have done their homework since 6.00 P.M.
Jawab : Sarah's and Anthony's homework has been done since 6.00 P.M.

Past Perfect Tense : rumus dasar nya S+had+been+V3+O
Contoh : Danny had sold his car for $5000.
Jawab : Danny's car had been sold for $5000.

Time signal for Past Perfect Tense :

(bedanya ama present perfect itu kalo past perfect ngmngin kejadian yang udah lalu, berlangsung dan berenti juga di masa lalu.)


Future Tense : rumus dasar nya S+will/shall+be+V3+O
Contoh : We will study geography next Monday.
Jawab : Geography will be studied by us next Monday.

Time signal Future Tense:

• next (next week, next year)
• again (5 days again, 2 years again)
• in the near future
• tomorrow
• the following (week, year)

Future Perfect Tense : rumus dasarnya S+will/shall+have+been+V3+O
Contoh : I shall have finished my homework by the time you come.
Jawab : My homework will have been finished by the time you come.
*catatan : sama halnya dengan would.


Modals : rumus dasar nya S + modal + be + V3 +O
Contoh : Ann has to buy a mobile phone.
Jawab : A mobile phone has to be bought by Ann.



Bagaimana dengan penggunaan kata BY?
Dalam kalimat pasif, gag semua harus pake "by" didalam nya.

Contoh : Someone is knocking the door.
Jawab : The door is being knocked "by someone"...

Karena pelaku ga jelas, kata "by someone" bisa dihilangkan ..
Beberapa pelaku ga jelas antara lain :

• by everybody
• by somebody
• dll...
